![]() ![]() For three cold years I wrote, workshopped and taught English while trying to stay warm (at -64 degrees F your spit will actually freeze before it hits the ground). Post trail, I attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks’ MFA program. Since summiting Katahdin on October 3 rd, 1999- a day hasn’t passed where I don’t think back fondly on my AT experiences. There followed a six month journey that I wish had never ended. Happily unemployed and carefree at 26, I quick caught a ride to Georgia and set off hiking towards Maine. For five dizzying years, I lived out of a suitcase and racked up frequent flyer miles before deciding I’d had enough of the corporate lifestyle. ![]() Don’t bother asking, I won’t tell you why.Īfter graduating from the University of Connecticut, I joined the great consulting boom of the 90’s. Within the month, people were already calling me Digger. In the summer of 1972, I was born Adam Martin Walden Stolz. ![]()
